Hello everyone. Nice to see you again!
Last time, I talked about how to use VPNs and Adblockers to avoid the GFW, today, I will be reviewing Chris Colfers #1 New York Times Bestseller Series : The Land of Stories.
First and foremost, I will introduce some key players(spoilers ahead):
Alex Bailey : Alex is the main character in the series, along with her twin brother, Conner.
Conner Bailey : Conner is another one of the main characters in the series, the twin brother of Alex.
Red(Red Riding Hood) : Red was the Red Riding Hood from the original story, but in the story, she is a self-obsessed young woman who is queen of the weirdly named Red Riding Hood Kingdom.
Froggy(King Charlie Carlton Charming) : Froggy is an interesting character. A witch called Morina cursed Froggy to look like an oversized frog. Since then, he stayed in secret in a hole at the Dwarf Forests and just drinks Lily Pad Tea and eats Flies all day. He was later unveiled in book 1, and became Queen Red Riding Hood’s husband in book 6.
Alex & Conner’s grandmother(Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother) : The Fairy Godmother, who was Alex and Conner’s grandmother, and taught Alex magic before she died in book 3.
With that in mind, it is time to dive into the stories and how I review them.
This is the review
The Wishing Spell: 5/6 star
The Enchantress Returns: 6/6 star
A Grimm Warning: 5/6 star
Beyond the Kingdoms: 1/6 star
An Author’s Odyssey: 5/6 star
Worlds Collide: 5/6 star
Here is the plot for Book 1, the Wishing Spell, 4/6 star:
Alex and Conner recently got a book called the Land of Stories. One day, it began glowing. Later, Alex and Conner entered the world into the Dwarf Forests and met Froggy. Froggy, looking like an oversized frog, guided them and later the twins left the Dwarf Forests toward the Corner Kingdom. As the twins discovered the items for the Wishing Spell, they first got a lock of Rapunzel’s hair in the tower. As they travelled towards the Red Riding Hood kingdom, they met a Bridge Troll, and they passed it. The twins jumped over the Wall of the Red Riding Hood kingdom. Later, they found a way into Queen Red’s basket room and got a hold of a piece of bark from the original basket, and they realized another person was also after the Wishing Spell. Later, they got trapped by a Troll and a Goblin and entered the Troll and Goblin territory. They escaped after Conner kissed Princess Trollbella. Conner then took the stone crown from the Troll and Goblin king. Later, they entered Cinderella’s castle in the Charming Kingdom and got hold of one of her glass slippers. After that, they went to Snow White’s palace and back to the Dwarf Forests to get jewels from Snow White’s coffin, and barely escaped Malumclaw and the rest of the Big Bad Wolf pack. They later went to the ‘Eastern’ Sleeping Kingdom and got the needle that pricked Queen Sleeping Beauty’s finger and caused her to sleep. They later entered Mermaid Bay and later went to the Thornbush Pit to get the Sea Saber that the Sea Witch used to cut the Little Mermaid’s tongue. After that, they got captured by the Big Bad Wolf Pack and taken to the Evil Queen…
This story has an interesting twist and is excellent, but there was no area where the twins nearly died unlike The Enchantress Returns, so I gave this a 5/6
Well, this is getting a bit long. I think I will make a part two about The Enchantress Returns and a part three for A Grimm Warning and I will puke at Beyond the Kingdoms, so part four is about An Author’s Odyssey and part five is about Worlds Collide.
See you soon!
P.S. the Sea Witch is working together with the Snow Queen, so the 2 witches used a dust to control Ezmia the Enchantress from book 2 and driven Alex crazy in book 6.
