Hi, Eason back here. Here are some places best to go, and some places NOT to go in Harbin and Beijing.

Beijing:

To go:

八达岭野生动物园:

Has a large variety of animals, including bears, goats, beasts like african lions, sun bears, siberian tigers and more. Also has a feeding thing in the Zebra (and Wildebeest) and Giraffe feeding. You pay ¥10 for one stick of tree branch for feeding giraffes (they have a very long sticky purple tongue and have a strong pull) and for five rolls of zebra (and wildebeest) feeding. There is also an antelope or something, but it is scared of the zebras and in my experience it only ate two bites of the first roll before running away from the zebras. The wildebeest is very aggressive, and the largest zebra is the only one not afraid of the wildebeest. I fed the wildebeest two of the five rolls.

Nearby attractions:

Great wall of China (Most people ‘recommend’ it but I won’t. In the NOT recommended list.

Olympiad center

北京海洋馆:

I never went there in the Beijing experience (see what I mean, My father and I wasted a few hours on the bad thing) so I will put stuff based on what I see on the web. Sources: Beijing Aquarium – Ocean and Amazon Wildlife, HUGE!

Tropical forests:

primeval forest similar to Amazon with 22 display tanks with different shapes and sizes. some fish include:

Fairy Fish

Glass catfish

African Prince

Koi carp

Pirarucu

Blue Sharks (Is there whale blubber? Blue sharks hide from great whites when eating whales)

Gold promfets

Herringl

Gar

Archerfish (they need some insects)

Angelfish

Piranha (really needs both fresh and salt/brackish water)

Olfactory striped seabass (Giant black seabass would be better, though Black Seabass live in kelp forests and hunt stuff like angel sharks)

The touchable pond:

Aquarium with 52-yard coastline. Visitors can somehow touch mollusks of different sizes. They also can see giant sea turtle, sea urchins, starfish, sea anemones, hermit crabs.

The undersea loop:

Travel through six oceans in a tube, starting from South China Sea, Indian Ocean, the Red Sea, Mediterranean, Atlantic and finish the tour using a massive acrylic tube like Alice coming out of wonderland.

The shark pier:

3D tube allows visitors to travel into the pier, and see many sharks, some Great whites. The biggest acrylic plastic showcase shelf, the mysteriously dark ocean bed, and the shark bearing its killer teeth right in front of you ,scraping by with the skin of its teeth all remind you that you are standing in front of a big 3D display tube that can give you a holistic vision of the contents. Be ready for the litany of pleasant surprises that will challenge both your imagination and your sight. Hold your breath, literally, in this shark zone. You are going to leave here really impressed. Main attractions: White Sharks, Grey nurse shark, the great white sharks. Various activities like diving ,shark-feeding and dancing with sharks are available for dare-devils.

Chinese Sturgeon Hall:

The sturgeon hall houses many sturgeons, often called the panda of the sea. You can see around 27 species of sturgeons.

Dolphin whale bay:

Trainers have dolphins perform for visitors while they educate listeners about whales. Human-dolphin meets are also possible. The Oceanic Theater also has sea lions, dolphins and a rocket-man performing in this 3,000-seat area.

This place is home to some really smart aquatic creatures. The friendship between the dolphins and the trainers are forged during the daily training and visitors can also have a man-to-dolphin session. Trainers will also tell you some interesting stories about the whales.

The Oceanic Theater:

The romantic and Hawaii-esque oceanic theater can hold more than 3,000 visitors and is very popular among the visitors. The diversified performances by these animals on the sapphire-like water constantly earn stand ovation from the excited audiences. Main attractions: Flying-rocket man, Sea lions, dolphins playing balls, etc.

There are also many other attractions, but for now I will start on the main errors people make when going Beijing

Where NOT to go in Beijing:

长城/Great wall of china:

While many people say it is a good idea, It is NOT. For first of all they expect you to climb all the way to the top, and the way has just as many slopes as steps. The cable car only drops you to some place and expects you to continue. You are also likely to get interupted by some Police saying: ‘人掉下来了!给路!需要去帮忙!’. That is why that is a problem that tour guides are not revealing to you.

Harbin:

Where to go:

Sun Island:

A sunny place to go during the Spring. Offers many places to go. Try not to go during Summer since Summer it is so hot.

Harbin Polarpark:

The place with the first Beluga show. Near Sun Island Station.

Where not to go:

No Place not to go
